Our Mandate

Founded in 1967 to safeguard the built and recorded heritage of Scotland.

The Atlas Trust was established by a Scottish family trust in response to the loss of several Victorian seafront buildings in Dunoon. We remain independent and regionally focused.

What we do

We commission surveys, fund specialist conservation works, and maintain a continuously expanding digital archive. Projects are selected on the basis of historical significance, risk, and the absence of other available stewardship.

Governance

The Trust is governed by three trustees, drawn from the disciplines of architectural conservation, archival science, and community heritage. Board meetings are held quarterly and minutes are available on request.

Annual reports

Audited accounts and an illustrated review of the year's preservation works are published each spring. Printed copies may be requested from the office on Argyll Street.
